Erin Butler

is Creative Director of the College of Esoteric Arts, Writer in Residence, Workshop Facilitator, and Tarot Professional.

Erin first studied Sociology, Criminology, and Law at the University of Calgary where she obtained her BA in Sociology (1989) & her LLB (1993).

After having children she began to study manifestation principles, recreating her own life around her creativity. She studied on scholarship at Humber College with award winning authors: Anne Michaels, Michael Helm, M.G. Vassanji, and Nino Ricci. She has now completed her own first novel & expects that it will be coming out sometime in the new year.

Erin also dances with Studio Sublime, Calgary’s largest belly dance troupe and can be seen performing at festivals and shows around the city often with her young daughter, Tess.

She enjoys sharing her love of magical living with her children, guiding them to pursue their own gifts and inspirations.

She has studied Tarot with Janine Morigeau, from beginner to advanced courses and then on a practicum level and now is one of our tarot professionals available for bookings by appointment. Janine has referred to her as a “prized student” and receives personal readings from Erin.

Erin created Invoking the Muse Workshops for Inspired Living in 2001, to mentor to others struggling with their own creativity how to nurture the creative self and to attract inspiration. Over the years this format evolved into what is now an eight week course The Art of Manifestation, which goes far beyond the realm of traditional creativity, to working with students on their relationship with self and the universe, and how they can consciously apply manifestation principles to recreate their own lives.

She continues to broaden her scope of spiritual study, participating in courses whenever possible and incorporating new information into her teaching.

“My favourite experience in teaching is seeing the transformational effect these classes have on participants, and how swift and dramatic the change is. I also derive tremendous satisfaction from the process of combining intuition, language, and analysis to create a new perspective for someone, or to help a student surpass an ingrained, habituated way of thinking that is getting in the way!”
